Shopping Cart / How it works


That Tutorial will explain and show you how the order and checkout process work on the ecommerce websites

 
1. The user navigate on your shop with the categories section

2. Once a categorie has been selected the user access the listing view of all the prodcut in the categorie. He can see a picture, the product name, a small description, the price and the option to add directly the product to his basket. He can also click on the product to view the full description.

3. The product description, you can add up to 7 pictures to describe your product, the user on the description of the product can view all the informations about the product, see the differents pictures and add the product to his shopping cart if he clicks on the link "add to cart"

4. The Basket, the user goes straight to the content of his basket after a product has been added. He can access his shopping cart at any time in clicking on the little arrow on the top right corner of the basket box or in the top navigation.

5. The user can add as many products as he wants in his shopping cart. Once he is done with his shopping he can go to the checkout process via the "checkout" link in the top navigation or in his basket.

6. For the order the customer has different options.

If he is an allready registered customer he can just login and continue to the checkout process.

If he doesn't have an account he can create one, he will be asked to enter his delivery and billing informations. His personal details will be stored into the data base into your admin panel into the "customers" section, the historic of his orders, the news letter subscription and the ability to change his delivery and billing address willl be accessible to the customer into his account.

Or the customer can pass an order without to have to register. He will just need to enter his delivery and billing information

7. Here is a screenshot of the account creation. (after the account has been created the customer receive a generic welcome email)

If the customer choose the option "continue straight to the checkout process" the requested details will be the same except that no password will be asked.

8. DELIVERY INFORMATION: Once all the delivery details have been collected the customer proceed to the checkout. He can change his delivery address, choose the delivery option (express delivery, standard delivery, recorded, etc...) and add a comment to his order.
He can then click on the "continue" link to go to the next step.

9. PAYMENT INFORMATION: After the customer has the choice to change his billing address ifdifferent from the delivery address. The payment gateway is Paypal which accpet all major credit/debit cards of the country.
Then the customer click on the "continue" link for the next step.

10. ORDER CONFIRMATION: Last step before the payment, the customer here has the ability to change (click "edit") every single previous informations. All the informations about his order displays here.

To preceed to the payment the customer needs to click on the "confirm order" link. Then he will be redirected to the paypal secure website where he will enter his payment details.

11. PAYPAL: On the Paypal page the user has two options, he can pay with his paypal account (right hand side), or he can pay with his credit/debit card (link on the left hand side).
If he wants to pay with his Paypal account the customer just has to enter his login details and to click on "connexion". Then the payment will be finished in few clicks.

12. PAYPAL: If the user doesn't have a Paypal account he will be asked to enter his payment details, his personal details such a: firstname, surname, address will be allready filled in, your website transmit these information to paypal to save time to your customer. The credit card payment details will be only known by paypal on his secure pages, for the security of your customer.

After his order the customer will be redirected to a "thank you" page on your website. and receive a mail confirmation order from paypal

As well as you will receive a notification of paymet from paypal.

From that moment you know that you have an order and you will be able to check all the details in your admin panel "customers -> orders"
